Welcome to Completely Hotels Sustainable Consulting! I'm Mike Harrison the founder and principal consultant. With a passion for sustainability and over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, I established this consultancy to help hotels navigate the path towards eco-friendly and socially responsible operations.

My Background

I hold a degree in Sports Science from Birmingham University, but my professional journey has always been rooted in the hospitality industry. My career spans over two decades, starting as a gym instructor and advancing to the role of General Manager. This diverse experience has given me a deep understanding of the operational and strategic aspects of hotel management.

Throughout my career, I have gained extensive knowledge in sustainable practices, energy management, waste reduction, and community engagement. I am proud to hold certifications such as The PLEDGE™ on Food Waste and the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) Certification in Environmental Management, which reflect my commitment to promoting sustainability in the hospitality industry.

My Personal Life

Beyond my professional life, I am a beginner beekeeper and a proud father of three boys. My interest in sustainable living extends to my home, where I maintain my own vegetable patch. Additionally, I enjoy playing golf in my spare time and the odd ultra marathon. These personal endeavors reflect my commitment to the environment and my passion for teaching my children the importance of sustainability.
